This Is Halloween! [or The Happy Nightmare Before Christmas]

by evilnymphstuff

Although here in Mauritius we don’t officially celebrate Halloween, or Samhain’s Eve, whatever you call it, many of us, especially teenagers, always find a way to make this 31 October a special day, even despite having exams on the next day.

Yes, many of us were just stuck at home with revision work… but fortunately? I had tuition in the afternoon. This is when my friends and I decided to wear orange and black and cry out ‘TRICK OR TREAT’ when the teacher would come into class.

Doesn’t mean that we got sweets in the end.

But it was just so fun.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

by evilnymphstuff

All right, I know what you are going to tell me, it’s the second WPC post… Two WPCs in a row! Does that mean that An Evil Nymph has nothing more to post, nothing to say at all to her readers?

Not exactly.

The thing is, I’ve busied myself a lot lately… not only through revision but through other new activities, new hobbies I have to decide whether to adopt or not… I realised that this year, the month of October has made me very frantic… unstable… So I’ve been trying to win at least one chess match against my phone (in vain), singing all over the place, watching indie singers on Youtube sing (eventually), thinking about crazy outfits by staring at my wardrobe, taking care of an alien (that’s Pou, a phone app lol don’t worry, we are not being invaded… yet), eating Smarties… and reading.

Maybe I’m doing all of this now because I know that NaNoWriMo is coming…?

I don’t know. Anyway.

A silhouette… Oh god I really had no idea how to tackle this theme for this week’s challenge!

Still, I was able to find something interesting on my balcony…

The Art Of… Writing To Myself

by evilnymphstuff

Hey! As you might have noticed, I am temporarily taking a break from my ‘Unpredicted’ series since I’m in the middle of the final exams period, which led me to get depressed before it started, then when it started I actually got sick and it just became a mess in my head… Nevertheless I happened to get inspiration for song lyrics, which you can enjoy here, but then I got a little depressed again and stressed and left alone in the past weekend because of more revision work…

And that’s – weirdly – how I got to develop a new little hobby: writing letters to my younger self.

Secret Kisses

by evilnymphstuff

This the third completed song that I wrote during the year! Wow! Getting inspiration for songs is usually rather hard for me so… Anyway, enjoy!

Weekly Photo Challenge: BIG

by evilnymphstuff

Hey guys, before getting to the point of this post, I would like to tell you that your comments on my previous post Why I Believe That ‘Revision = Depression’ have helped me make my day and made me smile! Exams are currently not so easy but I’m doing my best. :) I’m still a little depressed because I just fell sick, but other than that, I feel better, thank you.

So this week’s photo challenge is BIG!

Why I Believe That ‘Revision = Depression’.

by evilnymphstuff

It’s that time of the year again when I, as a high school student, have to give my best to the final exams of the year, to apply all that I have learnt in one year and apply them well so as to be able to pass on to the next new school year. Yep, here in Mauritius we follow the British education system, mainly the Cambridge syllabus.

And next year will be my last year in secondary school, I will be sitting for the A-level CIE (Cambridge International Examinations), which will determine my future! I mean, the end results of those six years of secondary school  will lie in these exams and will enable me to jump to a new educational level, that is the tertiary/university level.

That is, if I get good grades.

The Tag Blogathon!

by evilnymphstuff

Keep running, keep rolling! Here we are at the 1st edition of The Tag Blogathon at An Evil Nymph’s Blog! A special thank you to ABC of Spirit Talk who tagged me in.

(unfortunately the tag didn’t come with a picture, so I had to google one…:)

Here are the rules attached to it:

1.   Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
2.  They must also answer the 11 questions the ‘tagger’ has set for them.
3.  They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
4.  They must then choose 11 bloggers and tag them in their post.
5.  These lucky bloggers must then be told.
6.  There are no tag backs.

Stop Being Self-Centred, Start Giving And Be Happy! [WPC]

by evilnymphstuff

This week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post is Happy. And here’s my interpretation. Enjoy!

A few days earlier, I realised that I was being too self-centred. I mainly thought of only myself, buying stuff for myself, taking care of myself… All right, I know it’s good. It’s recommended, as at least we know that we are not depressed and want to end our lives, but then, it has a purpose. Yes, being self-centred for a while actually helps us to realise one main thing:

The Distorted: You Kissed Me To Death

by evilnymphstuff

The Unpredicted series continues with a new Picture it & Write! Enjoy!

Distorted.

That was how I felt when Caleb kissed me. Flashes of dead bodies encircling me; pictures of expressionless faces. But one single image kept on nagging me. It was a young girl. Enclosed in an empty room. Her eyes were cold and distant, yet she fixed them on me.

A death stare.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Mine

by evilnymphstuff

All right, this is a shot of my most chaotic drawer. As you can see, I took it out from my desk and place it on it.

What I usually put in this drawer are various little random things… really really random things. From bits and pieces of papers to USB pendrives to paint pots… It’s the craziest drawer I have. It’s my favourite too.

And all of this stuff is mine!

The Chinese Moon Festival (O)

by evilnymphstuff

October has begun… already! For me it is the time of final big exams and piled up work… but fortunately we’ve ended September in a cheerer note with the Chinese Moon Festival, which my family and I celebrated on Sunday 30th September :)

To start, we go to our grandma’s place and we have dinner together… well like any day. It gets interesting only when the clock strikes 7.00 p.m (GMT+4h). Because when the clocks strikes 7, we pay attention to the sky, looking out for the full moon. We patiently wait for it to come up in its full glowing glory, after it no longer hides behind the clouds.

Can you see the little moon in the photograph?
