An Evil Nymph Needs A Break…

by evilnymphstuff

Hi everyone!

This is to inform you that I… well, I… (it’s so hard to say it but) I need a break from the blogging world.

Yes, that’s why I skipped this week’s Picture it & Write, I’m sorry for that.

It won’t take long, I hope, but for the time being I’m backing away from my blog. I’m just having a hard time in real life for the moment; I’m going through a lot lately. Thus I decided to trim my hobbies/activities temporarily.

So that I can find myself again.

This is my latest photo by the way :)

There are still some guest posts that I need to publish that I’ve already approved and scheduled in the past, which you will be able to read and respond to while I’m taking my break.

And I’m still going to tweet, so for those who are interested, here’s my Twitter: @DaphYin.

And well…

I’m really really sorry.

But I need to do this.

I don’t know when I’ll come back, but be reassured that I will. Hopefully I might still post some photos from time to time.

Again I’m sorry.

Till we meet again,

An Evil Nymph.

The Art Of Planning A Blog

by evilnymphstuff

Let me tell you that I have a blogging schedule, but that I don’t have one. Yes, I love paradoxes lately.

blogging artWhat I mean is that when I first started this blog, I had absolutely no clue where I was going with it. I posted at random, writing without being specialised in any niche, many posts a day or how often I wanted to publish something in the blogosphere during the week.

Then I started to have an audience. A small one at first of course, but for me, one faithful reader was enough for me to become a little more organised on my blog, since I’d despise myself for confusing or overwhelming any followers of mine.

Advice on Guest Posting

by evilnymphstuff

If you have been following me for a while you should have noticed that guest posts are becoming more and more regular in my blogging schedule.

What is guest posting?

You know, those posts which aren’t written by me, but by someone else – and at the end of the post I place a short bio to credit them? This is a guest post.

You own a blog, and you write most of the articles, then one day, a mail comes in telling you that she/he wants to write for you. Well that’s fine. Less work for me and more exposure for the person, which is then called a guest poster. (I guess)

Okay fine, it’s called a guest blogger.

Sites of the Month: March 2012

by evilnymphstuff

This month has been very heavy… well it’s only the beginning of my journey to my A-levels. :S

Sometimes I just feel like I’m out of control – just when I’m starting to get organised! – and I just want to give it all up. But when you have awesome friends that can make you laugh for a whole day, you’ll just have to remember these short moments and your smile will last longer than you think despite everything else :)

Alright, so after this little update, here are the websites of the month! For those who are new to my blog, this is a monthly series that I carry out, sharing with you various links on several subjects, depending on what moved me enough to bookmark it…

Guest Post: How To Be A Safe and Smart Social Networker

by evilnymphstuff

How To Be A Safe and Smart Social Networker

How cool is it that we can at a click of a mouse or the press of a “send” key be in touch with people thousands of miles away from us, in different time zones or communicate with our best friends and families in an instant? Well, you might argue it isn’t THAT cool in relation to your family, but whatever…we can!

Things like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Skype and MSN/Yahoo Messenger provide us with a quick way of getting information out there, of talking to and interacting with people we know and for that matter people we don’t know too. All this is incredibly awesome, but not without its drawbacks. Here is a savvy guide to being a safe, smart social networker that lets you be able to have fun, but make sure you’re protected.

This Year is a Pool of Awards…

by evilnymphstuff

Since the beginning of the year my bookmarks bar on Google Chrome was filled with posts which nominated me for blog awards. That;s why I usually share/pass on the love of multiple awards to other bloggers. And it’s not over yet.

I firstly thank The Narcissist’s Blog for the Versatile Blogger award and the Kreativ Blogger award :)

Except from the rules of thanking the person who gave these to you and listing 10 bloggers to pass on those goodies (which we’ll come to soon don’t worry), there’s the fun part, which is to list…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Self-Portrait

by evilnymphstuff

This is me and my Sony camera in front of our Christmas tree :)

self-portrait within a christmas ball

Alright I know that you can’t clearly see me through the red ball… but well I like the effect. I wanted my face to be clearer in the ball but there wasn’t better than that.

Anyway I’m busy with the end of year season and having fun nevertheless and I hope that you do too!

Sites of the Month: November 2011

by evilnymphstuff

I know,  I know, I’m late! It’s already December! I wanted to write this post in the beginning of this week but because of my weekend vacation – I had so much to share with you :D – I couldn’t.

Anyway I’m starting to have lots of ideas – good or bad – for posts for both of my blogs and I’m also still moving on with my NaNo novel… + Youtube just made me confused with his new design and I had to adjust my channel to fit it etc… + Christmas is approaching… well just that I’m a bit overwhelmed LOL!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Breakfast

by evilnymphstuff

Haha! For those who know me well this is what I would’ve heard when they’d read the theme of the challenge of the week. To tell you the truth most of the time when I stay home, I don’t eat breakfast. I just tend to forget about it, compared to when I’m at school because school demands a lot of mental efforts — and you know what? I’m more tired when I do mental things than when I exercise physically!

Don’t do what I do, do what I say.

That’s a great quote, because I don’t encourage you not to eat breakfast. Eat your breakfast!! It’s the most important meal you should have in your every day routine! For mostly everyone it’s not and it’s rather dinner that comes out to be the most important, but scientifically that’s not true. Eat breakfast please. Every day.

I’m not perfect, I know… but anyway, I made an effort to have a breakfast today, for the challenge’s sake… and also because I felt slightly hungry this morning :) Might be because I slept on my book last night? (or very early this morning)

Happy breakfast everyone!

morning breakfast

This morning I invited my friends Shira and Andy (please check out their blogs) to share breakfast with me — virtually via Twitter LOL — and we ate crunchy bread with Nutella and digested everything with a cup of coffee! ^^ (I drink my coffee with a small amount of milk in it by the way)

Have a nice Friday everyone!!!

Nano? Are you still with me?

by evilnymphstuff

If you have been following me on Twitter you might have noticed that… well I haven’t tweeted much these days and neither did I posted much on my blog because I had a full week of depression + exams + keeping up on NaNo.

Fortunately NaNo wasn’t that much of a problem, only that it really used up all my spare time! :P

Anway this will be a short post…

Everyday I’m trying to write at least 2000 words instead of the usual 1667 so that you’re safer… :) and also because I discovered a horrible thing about Microsoft words:

The word counter is terrible!

Sites of the Month: October 2011

by evilnymphstuff

Before I get to the point of this post…

This month has been very fully active for me. First and foremost: October is the climax of my student life i.e. it involves exams! And worse! Now that Samhain’s Eve and NaNoWriMo are approaching, my international exams have come to their hottest points too! I feel that this week will be a very busy – productive is a nice word too I guess – with all of this. In addition I have to keep up with my two blogs and Twitter and read the blogs I’ve faithfully been subscribed too and therefore I have to check my mail constantly… Moreover now that my sister’s exams are over – she’s just 11 – and as she’s going to secondary school next year I allow her to have a glimpse of internet – i.e. I’m sharing my laptop with her… so I have less time for my virtual activities… which is so frustrating right now! Then there are the passive activities like reading and watching my favourite series, plus my urge of the night: to write in bed in my random copybook (you saw it here) – which is starting to lack pages… aww too bad I so loved it! I’ll ask my friend to buy another for me :P (it was a gift from this very friend you see)

But you know what? I love my life that way.

Yes. You read it.

LOL coffee

Haha I always find some interesting image on Google to add some… uh coffee? to a blog post! :D

A NaNo Update!

by evilnymphstuff

Firstly before I go on with the point of this post, which as you can read in my previous post I promised to write, I’d like to share a wonderful, touching post on the ups and downs of friendship – written by Aurora here: FRIENDSHIP: WHAT IS A FRIEND?.

Alright now… we are approaching Nanowrimo… and as I’m a planner, I’ve begun to plan my story and I’ve come halfway to it :)

I wrote everything down in a copybook… but as it was a mess, I decided to divide my notes into chapters (I used to do that for fanfictions) by index cards. Each card is one chapter and on one side I write the chapter number, while on the other side I plot main points. This is an awesome way to organise NaNo. Get inspired in an Alexandra Sokoloff’s post: The Index Card Method and Structure Grid
