Weekly Photo Challenge: Opportunity

“Opportunity”. This is the theme given for this week and we have to interpret this idea into a photo.

First we must define this term:

So what is opportunity to me? It’s a path, a road to success, to a better life. It’s when you have the ability to choose what is best for you. It’s hope.

I’m on the roof of my house. It’s early in the evening but the sun is setting already. I love to go there because where I live, this is the only ‘room’ when sunlight hits the most. That’s where we hung our clothes for them to dry LOL

On the day that I took this photo surely something caught my attention enough to make me quit internet and go upstairs… This was the colour of the sky. On that day, the sky was weirdly sort of orangey purple. I felt the urge to take some photos and this is one of them.

Why this one to represent opportunity? Well opportunity = hope (for me), and the cycle of the sun = hope (for me). When the sun sets, a day is about to end, be it in a bad or good way, and when I watch this fascinating nature’s show, I am aware that tomorrow it will come up again. When it leaves us, we know that this farewell won’t last. It will always come back to look after us.

Life in itself is a circle. It’s sort of the karma concept you know: everything that you do will come back to you. We reap what we sow. If we do wrong, wrong comes back to us, but we can repair this and try to do good… and of course it will come back. The sun will never leave us in the dark. That’s the opportunity we have: to always try to do better next time 🙂
