In Mauritius, we can never really claim to have known winter, because winter here is like summer in European countries! All right maybe we have 3 months of really cold winter? But that’s all. Here the sun always finds a way to shine through…
Shadows of my two friends and I! 🙂 To show how the sun is so bright that I feel like I’m being grilled and that my face is melting as if it had a thick layer of foundation every time…
Anyway, hope you all had a nice day! I spent awesome time during our (school) Annual Sports Day today and I’m just exhausted! xD
It was also very sunny today. ^^ As if it was summer. (yes it’s officially winter here)

Apart from my birthday, what can I possibly share with you for the month of May…?
First of all let’s say that I was very much concerned about my future as a student – i.e. I was browsing through various universities’ websites, and I’ve found many to which I might apply – all around the world! And then I thought about my career and dreams and I have two of them: creative writing (ha! of course! who wouldn’t have guessed that xD) and performing arts – which is plainly acting.

It is funny how Mother’s Day varies all over the world. I’ve seen that in many of the blogs I read Mother’s Day was some weeks ago, if I remember well, whereas here in Mauritius, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of May, which is today!
This post is therefore dedicated to every mother out there…
I wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day! 😀
yes hugs and cakes… what else to ask for? 😉

Giving a hand is to gain trust and maybe a new friend.

Alright now you might be thinking that I’m going to lecture you on the fact on which everyone babbles about yet never really apply it in their minds: that beauty lies in the soul, in one’s personality, and not in exterior beauty.
Yes, I don’t disagree with that.
But I’ve found that the real problem is how to make your beautiful personality visible? I mean, I know for all of us, especially women, it’s hard to believe that we are beautiful, because every morning our mirror claims otherwise. We know that we have amazing personalities but only we know. What about the others then? It’s hard for them to break the ice to finally reach this beauty that lies inside, and most of them just won’t bother digging. So how to make the link between interior and exterior beauty?
And before you click out of this page, which I hope you won’t, let me tell you that the solution isn’t about makeup and hair or clothes.
It’s much more than that.

I’ve mentioned something on facebook/twitter about a sudden epiphany on fiction writing of mine, if you noticed… and this is what I’m going to reveal today with this post.
Since NaNoWriMo in November I became deeply passionate about writing. I started to follow people like Rachelle Gardner, The Creative Penn, Larry Brooks and so on. I have been writing and reading and writing again… Yet the lessons I’ve learnt (especially the very effective ones of Larry Brooks on his website storyfix.com) didn’t fully flowed from my brain to my hands and fingers. I felt I was missing something, something I couldn’t grasp yet. Of course it takes time to completely understand something you are taught. It’s totally normal.
Since NaNoWriMo I’ve learnt so much that now when I read a book, I open my eyes… I just read differently. And after a week of writing, writing and writing, one of my friends lend me a book that I’d surely like, so she said, and it’s called The Mortal Intruments (book one): City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
If you haven’t read it, you totally should, especially if you are an aspiring writer.
When I started to read it I automatically thought of another author Melissa Marr and her Wicked Lovely book series. It meant that even though I was going to like the book, my #1 favourite will still remain The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. 😛 (there’s no better book than this one I guarantee!)
So I read and read and turned the pages…

Blue? When I think of blue I automatically think of the sky, because here in Mauritius the sky is really always blue. It’s amazing. There is pollution but it’s not enough to break Mother Nature’s spell on our dear little island…
And I like how the green leaves just contrast this vivid gradient blue. This is the Mauritian sky, guys. Viewed from my school’s premises today 17/05, which is by the way the international day against homophobia! 🙂
Enjoy the blue. This is all I have to say for this challenge. Sometimes we have to stop the babbling and just… watch. After all, less is more. 😉
