This Is Halloween! [or The Happy Nightmare Before Christmas]

Although here in Mauritius we don’t officially celebrate Halloween, or Samhain’s Eve, whatever you call it, many of us, especially teenagers, always find a way to make this 31 October a special day, even despite having exams on the next day.

Yes, many of us were just stuck at home with revision work… but fortunately? I had tuition in the afternoon. This is when my friends and I decided to wear orange and black and cry out ‘TRICK OR TREAT’ when the teacher would come into class.

Doesn’t mean that we got sweets in the end.

But it was just so fun.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

All right, I know what you are going to tell me, it’s the second WPC post… Two WPCs in a row! Does that mean that An Evil Nymph has nothing more to post, nothing to say at all to her readers?

Not exactly.

The thing is, I’ve busied myself a lot lately… not only through revision but through other new activities, new hobbies I have to decide whether to adopt or not… I realised that this year, the month of October has made me very frantic… unstable… So I’ve been trying to win at least one chess match against my phone (in vain), singing all over the place, watching indie singers on Youtube sing (eventually), thinking about crazy outfits by staring at my wardrobe, taking care of an alien (that’s Pou, a phone app lol don’t worry, we are not being invaded… yet), eating Smarties… and reading.

Maybe I’m doing all of this now because I know that NaNoWriMo is coming…?

I don’t know. Anyway.

The Art Of… Writing To Myself

Hey! And that’s – weirdly – how I got to develop a new little hobby: writing letters to my younger self.

Weekly Photo Challenge: BIG

Hey guys, before getting to the point of this post, I would like to tell you that your comments on my previous post Why I Believe That ‘Revision = Depression’ have helped me make my day and made me smile! Exams are currently not so easy but I’m doing my best.:) I’m still a little depressed because I just fell sick, but other than that, I feel better, thank you.

So this week’s photo challenge is BIG!

Why I Believe That ‘Revision = Depression’.

It’s that time of the year again when I, as a high school student, have to give my best to the final exams of the year, to apply all that I have learnt in one year and apply them well so as to be able to pass on to the next new school year. Yep, here in Mauritius we follow the British education system, mainly the Cambridge syllabus.

And next year will be my last year in secondary school, I will be sitting for the A-level CIE (Cambridge International Examinations), which will determine my future! I mean, the end results of those six years of secondary school  will lie in these exams and will enable me to jump to a new educational level, that is the tertiary/university level.

That is, if I get good grades.
