My first ‘serious’ vlog:
I hope it doesn’t make you cry, although if you did cry it means I did a great job 🙂
Anyway, this is basically some reflections on my life situation, where I’ve recently realised that I wanted to pursue art as a career while writing will remain my favourite hobby. And it’s also about my struggle to be accepted as an art student, since many do not agree with my decision, many don’t believe in me, many think that I’ll just end up in the streets instead of having a stable job.
But I don’t believe that. I believe in me. I know I can do this.
I know it’s so sudden and since I didn’t do Art & Design at school I have to do it privately and sit for its A-level next year, thus I’ll still be studying next year instead of going to university.
It’s a risk, I know, but I’m ready to take it. It’s all about follow my dreams and listening to my heart because only my heart knows what makes me happy.
And art does.
That’s the advice I want to give you: it’s okay to be scared, but you should go forward along your heart’s desires anyway.
An Evil Nymph.
I loved your video. I don’t even know you but I have absolutely no doubt that you will do something amazing and inspiring with your life. It’s okay to be scared, just try not to give into that fear and never lose your passion. All the best to you. 🙂
Thank you so much for believing in me even if we don’t know each other 🙂
All the best to you as well!
I’m sure you’ll get to be whatever you want to be, to wherever you want to go. Just be patient, and always stay cool.
Thanks! Okay B-)
I think you managed to go a step forward. I think it’s ok to be scared but starting vlogging and doing this video just means the start of something great. Remember “The only difference between doing something and not doing something is doing something” You already started, keep up the good work 😉
Virginia-
You’ve got a point. Thank you!
Although you are scared, you are able to say your dreams out loud. You will be strong and follow your heart. I have a daughter and a brother who are artists. It is not easy to make money nor get somewhere in the art world. But I believe in you! Keep the faith!
Thanks! No one ever said it was going to be easy, right 🙂 Yes faith is what we need!
Your words resonate a maturity far beyond your years. It is true … what you are feeling today may change tomorrow but you’re willing to explore and change so you can discover new and exciting things. Art is with you always. It is a part of you. When you are an artist you are an artist in every medium. You are so right to say that writing is an art. Art is whatever is deemed creative. It can be taught but those that posses it find an easier road than those who do not.
I wish you much success on the new road that you are choosing to travel. Determination and fortitude will carry you through.

p.s. I wrote this last month and I thought it might be something you’d enjoy.

That’s right. It’s exactly the message I want to show as well. Art is so vast in truth. Thanks for being supportive always!
At 18 you should be afraid of life. But you are so talent and artistic…you’ll get through. Marvelous Vlog!!
Yes I know it’s a normal stage. Thank you!
I see videographer on your list of talents as well. Your vlogs are incredibly done and professional looking.
Hehe thanks but I’ve been into video editing since I was 15 so that’s why 🙂
This is such a great and inspiring first vlog! Don’t limit to yourself to just your art and writing when you can create other things too! Good luck!
P.S. I’m scare too, haha. 🙂
Thank you! Sure!
PS: Face your fears then. I realised it’s ok to be scared 🙂
You must follow your heart….its your life for you to live it in happiness. The Dalai Lama said we were put on earth to experience Happiness. If doing art is what makes you happy then there are no more hard decisions to make

Indeed our main goal should be the pursuit of happiness more than anything. Thanks for these kind words 🙂
Hi EvilNy, You are a brilliant strong Lady ,you will succeed in achieving your goal to be what you what to be .I felt your strong personality through your posts which l been reading for some time.It took me 8 year to fulfill my wish to learn to play The Mandolin. It was a childhood ambition .Go after your Heart.Sincerely jalal
Believe in your dreams and go for them, right 🙂 Thank you so much!
Nicely done with the video editing.
Thanks!
Excellent post – I had to show it to my son. You have the power to inspire 🙂
Are artists lesser beings in that they don’t have a guaranteed pay cheque at the end of the week? I think not. There is so much pleasure for so many in the creations that artists produce. Pursue your personal desires and goals. I missed out (only slightly) on one of mine – should have bitten the bullet, accepted lower pay and gone to work for the railway. Instead I became a telephone engineer and I’ve done lots of challenging things over the years since as the technology has changed.
Keep aiming for your goals whatever is put in your way – and please keep posting the inspirational vlogs 🙂
Thanks! To inspire that’s my goal! 🙂
That’s right.
I wish you all the best!
Sure I won’t stop vlogging!
Great video, Daphnee. It’s about what makes you happy after all. You can’t lie to yourself. I like how you referred to writing as an art, and art as a way of telling stories. Powerful.

Thank you. Yes that’s true. 🙂 Glad you like it!
I absolutely loved your video! You’re a really inspiring person and I’m so happy that you’re sharing your inspiration, challenges and discoveries with the world. It will certainly make it a better place! 😀

Aww I’m really touched thank you!
Go you, you are really talented and with your drive, you will succeed and inspire other people to follow their hearts and live their dreams…I’m rooting for you!
Thanks for the motivation! 😀
Inspiring video, congrats on facing yourself and standing before your fears. I know what that’s like, I fear life as well but face it every day. My parents wanted me to be a lawyer, but gradually I persuaded them into taking my dream of becoming a recognized writer seriously. It will take time, patience and being yourself, but I’m sure those in your world will take you seriously soon enough. I salute you and best wishes in all your endeavors.
Thank you! It’s reassuring to know we’re not alone in this. Indeed, and perseverance and faith in ourselves and our dreams. Thanks again, and best wishes to you too in everything you will pursue in life!
