Origins Of This Blog

Written & edited on 31.12.2011

When I started this blog, I did not have any particular goal. I didn’t know what I was going to write. I had chosen no particular niche. I simply wanted to express myself freely, because I felt that my first blog Makeup Is ArtΒ was too limited: I could only write about makeup. It wasn’t sufficient for me. I want to write more. To a more general audience.

This is how An Evil Nymph was born. Why ‘evil nymph’? Well my name is Daphnee, derived from Daphne the nymph in Greek mythology and I’m a great fan of Arthurian legends, especially of Morgan Le Fay who is thought to be evil. I feel like I am part of both mystical creatures and that’s how I ended up calling myself Morgan-Daphne (MD) on WordPress. I so love Magick…

I aim for this blog to be a personal one where I can express my endless thoughts… because I think WAY too much!

At first this blog was… well very messed up. It wasn’t sure where it was heading for. But slowly, as I met wonderful WordPress bloggers out there, I began to build up the feeling of wanting to communicate to the world out there. I wanted my posts to be entertaining and inspiring. I had now a goal.

Still sometimes my posts goes back to the usual – telling about my teenage life, sharing it to you, my readers. But then sometimes I write posts in trying to actually help. Then the idea of NaNoWriMo came up and I realised that this blog has been dragging me back to my initial teenage passion: writing.

Because I want to become a published writer.

Most of my posts are now being concentrated on this art, though I sometimes still make posts about fashion, photography… depends all on my mood. There are also weekly posts like the Weekly Photo Challenge, and monthly ones like Sites of the Month. It’s now much more organised than when I started this blog. More enjoyable too I guess πŸ™‚

But in all, An Evil Nymph remains the blog of a passionate teenage girl who keeps writing and thinking too much…

  3. Well done, young lady. Your writing river is flowing. If it ever gets blocked by a dam; remember this; only YOU have the key to the sluice gate. Write it all down, the boring moments, the silly moments and don’t forget to call me when you are famous. Best of luck

  4. I am also a huge fan of Morgaine as Marion Zimmer Bradley called her. I know her Avalon books painted them in a better light and made the issue more religious. But I kind of can see that especially scence people villainize the different. And Morgan Le Fey seems to be used as the templates for most female villains.
