Today I’m celebrating Christmas… just like any other (Sun)day.
I woke up as usual, did a morning workout, ate breakfast, all without hearing Christmas songs or gifts being unwrapped under the Christmas tree. To be honest, I didn’t even buy a Christmas tree.
However, I did go out and did some last minute Christmas shopping for an upcoming special event. Then, I went to watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on the way. After some grocery shopping, I finally went back home. It was definitely the ‘calmest’ Christmas I have ever spent.
It didn’t disturb me at all. I just felt… at peace.
I don’t need a fancy Christmas tree or new clothes or a huge dinner to feel the spirit of Christmas. If Christmas is all about giving without expecting anything in return, giving in genuineness, love and kindness, then I have spent a good Christmas, and it’s enough.
Have I defeated the power of the commercialisation of Christmas? Yes. Maybe. Almost 🙂
Anyway, I would just like to keep it short and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

I figured that university was probably not for me. But I kept going, because it was not about classes and grades anymore, but about that sense of belonging among your peers, the community that makes the institution truly alive in the first place.
People have told me several times that I’m good at academia. But I chose not to go with it. I did not enjoy it as much as getting my hands dirty. Academia is too lonely for me. I enjoy teamwork and concrete projects, though I did not know that side of mine before I had actually experienced it.
In the end, I’m left doing a degree I have no real passion for; I have no idea what I am going to do after this, but at the same time, I know exactly what I am going to do after this. Taking a right turn, not looking back. The trip is set.
As the year 2015 is ending, I’ve been giving a lot of thoughts about my future and this is what I am at now. It’s all even more blur and unstable than before. Yet, I have grown to know myself more, my needs, my happiness triggers. All of me never stay the same and that is, I believe, the beauty of what makes us human: we are full of possibilities; we change because nothing is ever fixed and it is those uncertainties that are closer to the truth of who we are.
On that note, merry Christmas and happy new year 2016!

Since I missed Christmas on this blog, I better say it all together: MERRY NEW YEAR 2015!!!
I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to share here on this blog for the last time this year, 2014. And here we are, already on the 31st, and I have no idea what to write, but at the same time I have so many things I want to write about, that I want to put out there for the whole world to read and be aware of.
So I decided to simply go for the simplest way to deal with this: tell the plain truth. Write, without thinking twice. Type whatever comes out of my mind. Like a first draft. Thus, what will follow will probably be… chaotic, but well. These are the things I just want to get out of me.

Everyone has their own way of showing their Christmas joy 🙂
This was taken on Christmas night, with my siblings and cousin 🙂
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

The theme for this week’s photo challenge is rather… challenging as it is ‘One‘. But well, Santa Claus always finds a way 😉
Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!

I remembered I made a similar post back in 2011 when I received my first and only Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy SII, in addition to a wonderful book of course.
Well this year, I also decided to get myself something tech-y as well as books and since I got my gifts way before Christmas (i.e. for more than a week)… today’s post is born!
But first, for the sake of the Christmas and holiday spirit, I’d like to share with you an event a group of YouTubers, including me, are doing to help other YouTubers, as during the holiday season we want to Do Good 🙂
Here it is:
Hope you have some spare time to watch it! If not, without further ado, here are my 2013 Christmas presents!

This week’s challenge is based on the theme of Community. And here’s what I got…
At this time of the year our whole worldwide community stirs in unity due to the holiday season, especially Christmas.

Since I missed the ‘delicate‘ theme, I decided to blend it with this week’s ‘surprise‘! 🙂
When I think of ‘delicate’, I think of something fragile and sweet… Desserts?

So this is Christmas…
But what have you done?
That night I saw an angel fall from the sky. Her golden hair gradually lost its shine as she reached the ground. Her beautiful white gown was stained with dirt. I could not see her eyes or her face, but I knew that she was the loveliest thing that could ever exist on Earth. She looked so fragile and innocent.

Today, I’d like to share something special to you. I’m sorry if I’m missing the Weekly Photo Challenges – they’ll come a little late.
It’s Christmas time and every in the world, people are gathering within their family, among their friends, buying gifts, giving and receiving them, preparing Christmas dinner, and most of all, putting up the Christmas tree.

All right I know that in my previous post I promised you a beautifully well-written guest post, but something happened today that I have to share with you! I can’t stand to keep it all to myself. And don’t worry, the guest post will come just after that.

First of all, what is a sponsor? Well when a company/business sponsors something it means that it is supporting the ‘something’ financially and in return the ‘something’ gives credit to the business/company by offering publicity.
This year, I’m part of the school’s editing team for the school magazine 😀 and we need sponsors to support the magazine. Money just doesn’t come out of thin air, you know.

Today I have three things to talk about but don’t worry, none of them will be lengthy.
First of all… My interpretation on this week’s photo challenge on ‘contrast’:
It was early in the morning, I had just finished preparing myself to head to school, when the curtains were drawn… and my eyes witnessed a mesmerising sight: timid small clouds as if they’d just woken up, floating together while glimmering in the first rays of the sun of the day. It was so beautiful! I could not take me eyes away from such a unique moment where the sky and windows (which reflect it) have an orange-purple colour…

The title sounds so childish, don’t you think so? Anyway.
My 6th year at secondary school will start on Thursday! Excited? Thrilled? uh… well I guess I got used to it. So bye bye holidays and welcome uniforms and homework… My schedule will be tighter too. 😛
But to spice up those long days at school and tuition, I crafted a pencil case (which I always do since I learnt how to make one… thanks to school lol) like this one:

In Mauritius we are currently not in winter but in summer! Yep I always celebrate Christmas in summer ^^ But winter can also be associated with our moments of sadness and depression. When we feel bad, winter has settled in our mind. It’s all gloomy and dull…
But then we only need to light a match to melt the snow, to think positively again 🙂
This was my little cousins playing with sorts of firecraking sticks (harmless and beautiful!) for New Year.
In this wonderful period of renaissance (New Year) we should light up our inner winters and let the sun shine through!
