What To Do When You Are Sick?

Nothing! Absolutely nothing.

On those rare occasions, in my case, I just am unable to do anything. It’s normal of course: the body’s weak like hell, and your mind is getting crazy… like when I’m sick, I just feel like I’m drunk o.o which means that my emotions tend to be stronger, so anything can make me laugh or cry. Anything. It’s that easy.

hate being sick makes me cry

The thing is I like to keep being busy, guess I’m a workaholic, so I was really annoyed that I couldn’t do anything. In fact I was able to finish an essay but then, I told myself that I really shouldn’t force myself, even when exams are at the door… So I just ended up moaning with pain… well not exactly pain, it’s more like an uneasy feeling, like your body just feels wrong. Then I sleep, or sometimes I try to but I’m too much ‘in pain’, and in those cases, I just try to find something else, a passive activity, like watching TV.

An Evil Nymph Needs A Break…

Hi everyone!

This is to inform you that I… well, I… (it’s so hard to say it but) I need a break from the blogging world.

Yes, that’s why I skipped this week’s Picture it & Write, I’m sorry for that.

It won’t take long, I hope, but for the time being I’m backing away from my blog. I’m just having a hard time in real life for the moment; I’m going through a lot lately. Thus I decided to trim my hobbies/activities temporarily.

So that I can find myself again.

This is my latest photo by the way 🙂

There are still some guest posts that I need to publish that I’ve already approved and scheduled in the past, which you will be able to read and respond to while I’m taking my break.

And I’m still going to tweet, so for those who are interested, here’s my Twitter: @DaphYin.

And well…

I’m really really sorry.

But I need to do this.

I don’t know when I’ll come back, but be reassured that I will. Hopefully I might still post some photos from time to time.

Again I’m sorry.

Till we meet again,

An Evil Nymph.

Come To The Ocean Of Love…

Happy Labour Day everyone!

This week’s Picture it & Write comes a little earlier this week, because there’s going to be a surprise on Friday 😉 So stay tuned!

All right, so without delay, enjoy my contribution:

Come to the ocean of love…

My ears sprang up; I put down my cup of tea and daily newspaper and reached out to the radio.

…seven seas…

I turned up the volume.

Art Is Changing My Life

Some of you might remember that when I started this blog, I said that I had a new hobby every year.

Only writing remains constant throughout my life’s journey, since it’s more than a hobby, it’s a passion, well, it hasn’t always been constant but it always came back – I always came back to it.

French fanfiction in 2008, vidding in 2010, makeup and blogging in 2011, novelist-huge-breakthrough-plans in 2012… For some I… well I didn’t give up but I kind of was out of time to do all so I had to eliminate, while for others, like blogging especially, remained and will remain in my life I believe.

And in 2013…

Art.

Of course, everything I stated above is art, but what I mean is that this year I’m embracing the very basic stereotype form of art, which is the visual one, painting and drawing. The one art I drowned in when I could not even read and write, which made me use up all the paint pots and try out all the cheap painting brushes we had in our family’s shop, and which made me wonder about beautiful sunsets painted on canvas…

Losing Sight Of Your Priorities? Find Them Back!

I had a long weekend. Friday was a public holiday, here in Mauritius. Yet, as I’m writing this, on Monday morning, I realise that even though I should have had more time to do what I had to do, I in fact did not. I even didn’t have the time to check out WordPress and check my mail as I used to!

What happened exactly?

Well, on Friday, I got my hair cut (again haha, I tend to keep it as short as a boy’s), then since it was a holiday I went to my grandma’s and during my spare time, I blogged (my last post) and did Art homework. Fine.

It was on Saturday that I lost it.

My mind, I guess.

The Art Of Planning A Blog

Let me tell you that I have a blogging schedule, but that I don’t have one. Yes, I love paradoxes lately.

blogging artWhat I mean is that when I first started this blog, I had absolutely no clue where I was going with it. I posted at random, writing without being specialised in any niche, many posts a day or how often I wanted to publish something in the blogosphere during the week.

Then I started to have an audience. A small one at first of course, but for me, one faithful reader was enough for me to become a little more organised on my blog, since I’d despise myself for confusing or overwhelming any followers of mine.

An Ordinary Student Life

Hey guys! I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA often these days. So many of you are requesting blog posts from me and I thank all of you for your support 🙂 but as you can see, I have a life too outside of blogging: I’ll be taking part in Cambridge International O-Level Exams in October and I have to do my revision work.

So I was wondering what I could write… and well, as what’s all in my life for the moment is these exams, then why not talk about it? I hope it doesn’t sound boring, but I’d like you to know more about this 16-year-old girl behind the screen and get a glimpse of her life out there 🙂

Today, Friday 16 Sept, I got my official exams timetable. Ahh!! These papers just scare everyone! 😛

Cambridge O-levels examinations papers

My exams will cover a whole month, i.e I will start on the 10 Oct (with French Literature!) and end on the 15 Nov (with Economics paper 1!). Of course, I won’t have exams everyday lol!

Now I have to do my revision work, i.e I have to recapitulate whatever I learnt during the 5 years I was at secondary school… (don’t worry… we mostly revised what we did these last 2 years :P) and I have to practice a lot!

We usually do 8 subjects and they’ll extract the final results from 6 of these 8 subjects. Some people do 7 only and others do 9 or 10… (omg! they’re crazy!) In my school we were compelled to do 8 and I guess it’s the best choice. 🙂

There were 4 compulsory subjects: French, English Language, Maths, and Additional Maths.

I had to choose 4 others and these 4 should match each other. I chose, first of all for the 1st two places, French Literature and Literature in English. The two vacant places had to be filled either with the sciences or accounting sides… and I chose Accounting because I thought it was more scoring (in fact it’s not, as every subject has the same level of difficulty). Therefore I filled the 2 places with Economics and Principles of Accounts.

Next year we have to choose 3 main subjects and 2 subsidiary ones… General paper (GP) is a compulsory subsidiary subject. I chose this combination:

The 3 mains: French (Literature included), Literature in English and Maths.

The subs: GP and Sociology

I think it’s best I briefly tell you about how I’ll do my revision and maybe this can help you too to organise yours one day 🙂

How I organise my Revision Work:

First, let’s see:

I do 8 subjects and there are 7 days in a week.

English and French are subjects that you just can’t revise… you know it’s just about language, your vocabulary… no theories, no formulas or quotes to learn by heart. In addition, I’m fluent in both (well in oral english uh not really…xD)

Therefore, I’m left with 6 subjects and 7 days! Yeah! I’ll have a rest day!

I’ve planned it like that:

Monday = Add. Maths

Tuesday = French Literature

Wednesday = Maths

Thursday = Economics

Friday = Principles of Accounts

Saturday = Literature in English

Sunday = random work/free time!

It all depends on you and what you feel is best for you when you have to prepare yourself for an exams. Some I guess would just followe their instincts and randomly choose a subject to revise everyday… or when they feel like it. But I’m  not like that. I need organisation in my studies 🙂

I don’t know if you’ve read or understood all of this but anyway thanks for passing by and feel free to leave a comment.

IF you have anything you want me to write on you are free to tell me in the comment box below 😀

Yours Blogging,

An Evil Nymph.
