A Bunny Rant About Google+ & YouTube “Just Married”

*I was thinking about vlogging about this because it is mainly on the changes YouTube has been undergoing lately, but I’m still in exams and blogging about it is much easier and less time consuming. With that said…*

bunny-(8)When I first integrated myself in the YouTube community it was for the sole purpose of watching piano tutorials and covers of my favourite songs because at that time I was self-teaching myself how to play the piano. It was in 2009. I was only 13-14 years old then. Afterwards, after one year, I started making video montages with my favourite TV series at that time: Merlin, and as most of you know my vidding channel was born.

I remember how at that time my YouTube channel was so customizable with the transparency option especially, with which I could thankfully put up a favourite wallpaper of mine to serve as my channel’s background image. I remember how a YouTube channel back then was like a… profile page, with friends as well as subscribers and channel groups and more.

But YouTube’s format gradually changed as the years passed… until we came to the current channel format: less customizable, more professional, which led to a kind of a division between the content creators and the viewers… when in truth we are all equal, and creators are viewers as well as vice versa.

Getting Sponsors: uh, what? Spongebob??

All right I know that in my previous post I promised you a beautifully well-written guest post, but something happened today that I have to share with you! I can’t stand to keep it all to myself. And don’t worry, the guest post will come just after that.

First of all, what is a sponsor? Well when a company/business sponsors something it means that it is supporting the ‘something’ financially and in return the ‘something’ gives credit to the business/company by offering publicity.

This year, I’m part of the school’s editing team for the school magazine 😀 and we need sponsors to support the magazine. Money just doesn’t come out of thin air, you know.

Sites of the Month: February 2012

Every month, new things happen, new discoveries are made. And interests are broadened too. Of course, in February, school gained much more importance too. So I’m simply busier than ever 😉

Anyway, it’s always a pleasure to share my monthly findings with you guys. Enjoy!

SOPA!? What. The. Hell?

My little sister was about to do some research on Wikipedia but it was blacked out. Didn’t really understand the situation at first. But then I was about to post this week’s photo challenge on WordPress, but when I entered the site, I saw that all the Freshly Pressed were censored! I then clicked on one of them and saw something like a strike… while going to my mail to see whether anyone else was talking about this… Everyone is eventually talking about this and spreading the message… and really, this PIPA/SOPA is serious matter, guys…

Stop Procrastination!

After two months of summer vacation, who would be ready to jump on copybooks and go to school? Not I. It’s hard to suddenly change the routine. School looks so boring compared to whatever we did during the holidays. We feel lazy. We don’t want to face reality: that we have to work.

Thursday was the very first day of 2012’s school year. As here we follow the British education system, I’m now thus in Lower 6 (which makes me feel more mature by the way! lol). As usual I yawned after waking up because I’m struggling to aceept the fact that I have to be up early – same at night I have to sleep early – and wearing a green tunic everyday.

Sites of the Month: November 2011

I know,  I know, I’m late! It’s already December! I wanted to write this post in the beginning of this week but because of my weekend vacation – I had so much to share with you 😀 – I couldn’t.

Anyway I’m starting to have lots of ideas – good or bad – for posts for both of my blogs and I’m also still moving on with my NaNo novel… + Youtube just made me confused with his new design and I had to adjust my channel to fit it etc… + Christmas is approaching… well just that I’m a bit overwhelmed LOL!

A NaNo Update!

Firstly before I go on with the point of this post, which as you can read in my previous post I promised to write, I’d like to share a wonderful, touching post on the ups and downs of friendship – written by Aurora here: FRIENDSHIP: WHAT IS A FRIEND?.

Alright now… we are approaching Nanowrimo… and as I’m a planner, I’ve begun to plan my story and I’ve come halfway to it 🙂

I wrote everything down in a copybook… but as it was a mess, I decided to divide my notes into chapters (I used to do that for fanfictions) by index cards. Each card is one chapter and on one side I write the chapter number, while on the other side I plot main points. This is an awesome way to organise NaNo. Get inspired in an Alexandra Sokoloff’s post: The Index Card Method and Structure Grid

Abracadabra! It’s gone by itself!

Indeed I guess this should be in my list of WordPress complications!

One day I was posting something… as usual… and when after some googling – my favourite activity lol! – I decided to check my post in its final state… WordPress said that it got ERROR 404!!! And as internet nerds you all know what this means!! (it means: my post cannot be found!)

For an instant I thought it was like the other day when my post got suddenly blank after having written it for 45 mins! But it was not this kind of complication. It was fortunately less serious.

What really happened: When WordPress told me “Congrats! This is your # post! ****! This post has # words.”, in fact he was LYING! It had been too lazy to publish my post. Therefore my post just stayed where it has always been: in the drafts! So I just reclick the PUBLISH button and this time I checked immediately whether it’s been GENUINELY posted. Ouf! It was! yay!

Now I click on “View Post” each time I publish a post. In case my readers got a mail about a post that has never been.

I guess most of you did experience this… just that sometimes you don’t bother check your posts and you think they’re being read when they’re NOT! That’s how people end up complaining about “Oh I’ve got so few readers!” lol no the last part was just kidding ;D

Yours WordPressing,

An Evil Nymph.

10 Things I Want to Do When I hit 18

I remember when I was 10, I used to looking forward to 13, and at 13, I wanted to be 15 and at 15 I wanted to be Sweet Sixteen… and now that I’m 16… and that there’s in fact nothing extraordinary about that, I wish to be 18 🙂 If you feel the same, well that’s completely human!

This list is not in a particular order! All depends on my memory… well mostly all lists that I do here on my WordPress blog, depend on my mem. 😉

When I am 18, I will:

1. Get a tattoo

2. Buy and choose the best red wine for this special day – for my friends, family and me 🙂

3. Rent a car; start getting used to driving

4. Create an ebay account so that I can finally do some Sell&Buy activity online

5. Buy books on Amazon.com or ebooks simply

6. Get the latest mobile phone

7. Start cooking! LOL

8. Not be crying this time! (indeed I always do… maybe I’ll explain that in another post later)

9. Get my Dream Dress

10. Be in my final changing state, i.e. become the accomplished woman I’ve always wanted to be

Any wishlist of yours?

My Dream Dress

dream dress silver grey strapless with big cute bow

One day as I was googling – one of my frequent hobbies nowadays 😛 – I came upon THIS in google images! And I’ve saved it, swearing that I would make a designer sew this for me for my little person with the right measurements and all. You might think why I didn’t buy it online, well I’m not yet 18 and therefore don’t have a credit card, plus I lost the website of the dress, and finally because the measurements wouldn’t have been good for me as I’m rather short for my age, and I guess that Europeans and Asians’s body build are different.

Isn’t it beautiful? 🙂

It’s been my profile picture of BlogCatalog ever since! 🙂 http://www.blogcatalog.com/user/DaphYin14

FAQs: Request for blogging advice

Today I got my first sort of website ‘FAQs’ from a blogger here on WordPress called Hassaan Rabbani. He gave me authorisation to publish what he’d asked me:

Hi,

i stumble upon your blog today and it fascinated me a lot.. keep on writing,

i am new at wordpress, can  u suggest me something..

www.hassaanrabbani.wordpress.com

Best,

Hassaan

My reply:

Hi! I think that you’re not as new as me 😀 your blog is nice!

What I can tell you is to comment a lot on other blogs and subscribe what really interests you, and you can send messages like you just did 🙂 but search for blogs that share the passion of airplanes too 🙂

I followed your blog.

Keep on writing!! At least one post every two days or even everyday! What’s more important is the number of views, your blog stats, not the number of subscribers. But please don’t write too much posts on a single day – two or three max. – or many might unsubscribe because their inbox will be filled too quickly!

He answered:

Yeah sure why not 🙂
By the way i am really really great full to you. you are such a friendly pal

God bless you and thumbs up again 🙂

keep up the good work

best

Hassaan

For those who are new to blogging, I hope this article is helpful to you!! 😀

Click on the Contact me tab if you have any more questions! I’ll try to reply ASAP though don’t get impatient if ever I take some time because I’m going back to school tomorrow.

I think I’m WAY too dramatic!

TRUE-BASED STORY:

So I’ve just barely started to use WordPress and after 4 posts I get notified that my blog has been deactivated because I violate their terms!! This really turned me down! Fortunately there was a link to contact the staff in case it was just an error. I didn’t understand how my blog could already have been reported so I begin to dramatize! As a ‘writer’ I began to imagine lots of scenario: how will be my evening without be able to post these new fresh blog ideas that got into my mind while I was eating??!!

Therefore I contacted them of course and here’s what I wrote:

“I’ve only registered to WordPress some hours before I got deactivated. I had the time to customise my blog, which is a random stuff blog, for everyone’s leisure, and post 4 posts… and hop! deactivated. I think it is an error as I don’t blog for advertising or promotion and I don’t even blog to get money or whatsoever. It’s one of my favourite hobbies since I’ve started on Blogger so I just wanted to try here… Please reactivate my blog! I’m only a girl 16 that needs to escape the stress of life by writing and sharing!”
