Halloween Edition | How I Did My Makeup In High School #Challenge

That featured image up there is so cringe-worthy… If you have been sticking around, reading this blog since the beginning of time (i.e. 2011), then you might remember that I used to have quite a peculiar… goth style. I mean, come on, it’s An Evil Nymph (although there are other reasons why I called my blog that way).

Anyway, Happy Halloween! It’s that time of the year again, when I’m finally able to unleash my dark sides to the world without anyone judging! I remember, back when I had just started this blog, I wrote a few fashion/makeup posts, especially those special ones for festivities, such as Halloween… (do you guys remember that I also used to have a makeup blog right before this one?)

As the years went by, my craze for goth and makeup in general died down… and I had stopped ‘dressing up’ for Halloween (since we don’t officially celebrate it on this side of the world) and in university, it was worse because Halloween fell during the exam period! Like right now!

However, I saw this tag trend on YouTube recently about beauty vloggers re-creating their high school makeup look and eventually talking about how horrible their makeup styles were back then… and it dawned on me that this was a totally do-able makeup challenge (especially because I don’t have to buy anything)! So I was like, I should definitely do it one day. Then, I remembered that my style back in high school days was quite goth (i.e. Halloween-y)… and at the same time, I remembered that my boyfriend told me (after stalking through my old Facebook profile pictures!!!) that if he had met me back then, he would still have had a huge crush on me because he used to be into goth girls…

Merry Halloween! | Edition 2013

Of course, An Evil Nymph never misses Halloween, and you’ve been a follower since I started this blog, you are well aware that although I don’t get to properly celebrate Halloween because it is not a tradition or even an event in my country, Mauritius, I always find something Halloween-y to do.

In 2011, on the first Halloween I ever celebrated on this blog, I dressed up as a witch/druid/Wiccan girl and in 2012, I simply wore black and orange, the orange part being a DIY ‘An Evil Nymph’ tank top, and now in 2013 I’m going to dress up as a modern medieval lady/princess! As such:

In fact I have to go out today because I’m being issued my national ID card – so I’m officially an adult as from today 😉 And it’s luckily fallen on Halloween’s day!

This Is Halloween! [or The Happy Nightmare Before Christmas]

Although here in Mauritius we don’t officially celebrate Halloween, or Samhain’s Eve, whatever you call it, many of us, especially teenagers, always find a way to make this 31 October a special day, even despite having exams on the next day.

Yes, many of us were just stuck at home with revision work… but fortunately? I had tuition in the afternoon. This is when my friends and I decided to wear orange and black and cry out ‘TRICK OR TREAT’ when the teacher would come into class.

Doesn’t mean that we got sweets in the end.

But it was just so fun.

November Day 3: NaNoWriMo Day 3

I was planning on posting every day this month due to NaNo but well I don’t think I’ll be able to LOL so there’s no “day 2” post sorry about that. I might be posting like every 2 days or so… and not only on NaNo because I don’t want to annoy the non-participants either…

Last time when I published my NaNo day 1: Starting the Fire in Heaven post (by the way the title “Starting the Fire…” has been chosen because of my NaNo novel title “Burning in Heaven” in case you didn’t read previous NaNo posts and thus didn’t have a clue about that), wordpress showed the usual message:

“You’ve now published 75 posts on this blog!”

But there was also this second part which I found very funny:

“This is your 1st post tagged nanowrimo2011. Youve written 708 words and your novel is now 1.4% complete. Wicked!”

Haha!! Well sorry but I’m not writing my novel on WordPress but in my dear forever writing friend: Microsoft Words. And I thought that if I tagged my posts “nanowrimo2011” it meant that I was writing about NaNo, tips etc… It’s written here anyway:

Merry Samhain’s Eve!

Yeah it’s finally Halloween!

I hadn’t had the opportunity to celebrate it and I feel tired because of two exams papers I had to take today. Anyway, that doesn’t mean I didn’t really do anything for Halloween! And first of all I prepared my blog post for it 🙂

Halloween Plans? Need some Advice!

We’re in October and in a few weeks my favourite festival of all time will be occuring: Halloween or Samhain’s Eve!

halloween pumpkins

Without beating about the bush, let me tell you the problem: here, we never celebrate Halloween. It’s just not part of our cultures as in Mauritius we are most of the Asian origins. In addition to that, on Monday I started my O-level exams and that’s why I might not be posting much (I’m soo sorry for that!) and I will be taking part in these international exams until November 15 (arg!!). The horrible thing is that on October 31 I will have to sit at examinations!!!
