As expected, I did not keep blogging regularly.Unless you considered at least one post per month to be regular and consistent, I guess. Oh well, life. School is making me crazy at the moment.
Then, today, something peculiar crossed my mind as I uploaded my latest Instagram post, which is this one by the way:
#Volunteering at Bangsa Ria, an organization for people with special needs, has been one of the most challenging experiences I’ve had. It wasn’t easy; it wasn’t all roses.
But it was worth it.
As one of the #MUVP groups, we hope we’ve made a difference as little as it might have been.
This is a #handcrafted#rose made by the BR members, which I bought today as an additional contribution and just because. It’s so #beautiful🙂 #charity#foragoodcause#art#nature#monashmalaysia
Okay, I might sound stupid, but this was the first time that I realised that all this time I was actually micro-blogging on Instagram.
As most of you know I have been doing the 100happydays challenge on Instagram (@dkwaye) and last Tuesday… I COMPLETED IT! Why did it take me so long to tell you on this blog? Well, you know, schedules… and VLOG:
In which I explain everything about my experience with the challenge and in which I have been able to compile all the 100 photos for your visual pleasure! 🙂
But if you want to see all the images at your own pace, there’s always my instagram 😉
By the title, I mean, can you be happy for 100 days in a row?? 🙂 Yes, most of you already know what I’m going to talk about in this post and what has been going on in my life recently while I was away from the blogging world (my most sincere apologies for that!!!), which is the #100happydays challenge!
The challenge is to post a picture everyday for 100 consecutive days online on any social media platform of my choice (I chose Instagram!) showing the little things that makes me happy. The main goal is to make people realise that happiness is not a destination, but a lifestyle 🙂
Thus, I decide to share my first 14 days in the challenge here:
Some of you might remember that when I started this blog, I said that I had a new hobby every year.
Only writing remains constant throughout my life’s journey, since it’s more than a hobby, it’s a passion, well, it hasn’t always been constant but it always came back – I always came back to it.
French fanfiction in 2008, vidding in 2010, makeup and blogging in 2011, novelist-huge-breakthrough-plans in 2012… For some I… well I didn’t give up but I kind of was out of time to do all so I had to eliminate, while for others, like blogging especially, remained and will remain in my life I believe.
And in 2013…
Of course, everything I stated above is art, but what I mean is that this year I’m embracing the very basic stereotype form of art, which is the visual one, painting and drawing. The one art I drowned in when I could not even read and write, which made me use up all the paint pots and try out all the cheap painting brushes we had in our family’s shop, and which made me wonder about beautiful sunsets painted on canvas…
I know I usually do weekly photo challenges on Wednesdays, but a lot happened this weekend, and I’ve also being very active on Instagram. And this week’s photo challenge is ‘A Day in My Life‘!
I’m mainly going to concentrate on how I spent my Sunday, although you still deserve some explanations over Saturday and Monday:
On Saturday, we, Mauritians, have been victims of a never-seen-and-witnessed torrential rain situation. Unexpected floods, unpredicted (or compelled to silence) by the media, despite all the technologies we possess, which caused deaths and panic… My mother and I were far from our home, in a shopping mall, and we were so taken aback when we went out and saw that water was all over the pavements and roads… it came up to our ankles!
And I had to buy art supplies.
Anyway, I’m still alive! If you want to know more about this, my best friend just wrote a blog post about it here: Mauritius These Days…
So when I woke up on Sunday, it didn’t feel like Easter. Nevertheless, I ate chocolate bunnies! 🙂 Thus, here’s the first photo for the Daily post challenge:
Today, I’d like to share something special to you. I’m sorry if I’m missing the Weekly Photo Challenges – they’ll come a little late.
It’s Christmas time and every in the world, people are gathering within their family, among their friends, buying gifts, giving and receiving them, preparing Christmas dinner, and most of all, putting up the Christmas tree.
