Getting Myself… Nerdy Holidays!

I don’t know why many people think ‘nerd’ to be pejorative.

So my exams are finally over! And my long long holidays, until I go to university next year in September probably, have just begun!

And what I’ve learnt during those seven years in college… is to be myself.

Which reminds me how sometimes people would call me ‘nerd’ to taunt me… but I would only be pleased, as for me being a nerd is awesome! How can reading books and getting obsessed over Game of Thrones NOT be awesome?? 😉

Thus, here’s how I’m going to spend my ‘nerdy’ holidays… at least for the time being!

1. Catch up on reading the Game of Thrones series! (I’m currently at ‘A Storm of Swords 2’!)

Guest Post: Ways To Boost The Morale Of Your Physically Challenged Teen

Hey everyone! Since Chinese New Year, I’ve been so busy and now I have to catch up with work at school and so on, I’ve been overwhelmed by struggling to find my career path, well what I want to do in university next year, a lot of confusion and decisions to make… thus that’s why I seemed rather absent in the blogosphere. Moreover I’ve had some problems with the internet lately…

Thus, the blogging schedule is going to be a little distorted this week, (from last week in fact, since I made no ‘Weekly Photo Challenge’ post), but soon I’ll hopefully get back to my usual blogging pace. For today, here’s a little yet very instructive guest post by Jack Holland:

Ways To Boost The Morale Of Your Physically Challenged Teen

boost disabled teens

Being born with a physical disability like cerebral palsy, spina bifida or any of a host of others can be trying on any child. On teens— with the media, peer pressure, and the desire to fit in—it can be much worse.

5 Reasons Why I Prefer Evil Characters

therese desqueyroux françois mauriacLes « coeurs sur la main » n’ont pas d’histoire ; mais je connais celle des coeurs enfouis et tout mĂȘlĂ©s Ă  un corps de boue.

This French quote from François Mauriac very much describes my main motivation for siding with evil characters in my stories. I can’t really translate it though, because in English it won’t have that same impact it had on me, you see… The French language has a particular (charming and poetic) style that I just can’t reproduce in English. But basically, Mauriac tells us that he prefers to write on those who are ‘evil’ and unconventional instead of those who are good and virtuous.

I can totally understand why. (And I totally understand Mauriac thus that’s why I’m in love with his book, ThĂ©rĂšse Desqueyroux).

I’ll give you the details of my experience in a later post.

1st July: Why It Is An Important Date…

The 1st of July: another morning, another day that I have to face, with mingled and shaken hopes, dreams, fears…

Well it’s like any other day. Except that this date has been holding many important events in my life. It’s a special date, that many have too I hope, which isn’t my birthday, but has been a boundary that I successfully crossed… in 2007…

1st July: Why It Is An Important Date…

1. It is my Diary’s birthday!!! 🙂

Am I hearing: “Duhh so what?”? Well I’m not really talking about this kind of diary:

Sites of the Month: December 2011

A wonderful and festive month is already coming to an end. It’s been a busy but also a fun and enjoyable month. I don’t have that much sites to share with you though because I was mainly trying to keep up with reading your blogs and with going out with my friends in the holidays.

It’s funny though that I did find time to learn cartomancy…

5 Easy Facial Skin Care Tips

When you feel the need to take care of your skin – especially at teenage with all the pimples etc. – and you search through the net or go to a pharmaceutist for advice, they all end up telling you these 3 main things:

1. Buy a face cleanser and use it twice a day

2. Buy a toner to be applied just after the cleanser for your pores’ sake!

3. Buy a moisturiser

There are so many other products that they all counsel you and you use up all your money.

Even I bought a face cleanser… but in fact these are only quick-fix solutions, as today everyone wants to have everything to be done in one click!

I discovered 5 most important things to do for a better healthier skin – it will take time though, much more than if you buy all these. But it saves you money and time. I just had to share it with you. The funniest thing is that most of you already do most of these things daily, without knowing that they are indeed beneficial to your skin.
