7 AMAZING Asian Movies You Probably Haven’t Watched

Okay, you probably did watch a few on the list, but not everything, right? (If you did, you are either one of my really close university friends or… WE ARE MEANT TO BE!)

Hi. It’s been a while since I wrote. That blogging schedule didn’t go according to plan, uh. The past weeks (or is it ‘months’?) have been… hard. Pretty much life-changing. It’s been hard to get back to writing.

There were so many topics I wanted to write on, but every time I would bring myself to opening WordPress, I’d write the title and nothing else. So I decided to get back into my usual self by writing a rather ‘easy’ post.

My friend and I have been exchanging movies for a while now, but I never write about the beautiful films I end up stumbling upon! There are so many lost treasures in the film industry!

Why I Don’t Like Parties

I’m a student living abroad on my own, and I don’t like to party.

I have no curfew, no parental restrictions, and I’m allowed to drink. I still don’t enjoy partying.

Let me give you the definition of ‘party’ at university (at least in my circle), to clear things up: clubbing. Dressing up and then getting drunk (preferably before going to the clubbing area—a whole row of loud bars and clubs), and then hopping a few clubs before finding one that you and your friends really like, I guess?—and finally go home with a hangover in the early hours of the morning.

But of course, everyone’s definition of ‘partying’ is different. For me, going clubbing used to be: dressing up as if you were going to a fancy dinner, drinking, dancing (this was actually our favourite part) and finally going home.

5 Reasons Why I Prefer Evil Characters

therese desqueyroux françois mauriacLes « coeurs sur la main » n’ont pas d’histoire ; mais je connais celle des coeurs enfouis et tout mêlés à un corps de boue.

This French quote from François Mauriac very much describes my main motivation for siding with evil characters in my stories. I can’t really translate it though, because in English it won’t have that same impact it had on me, you see… The French language has a particular (charming and poetic) style that I just can’t reproduce in English. But basically, Mauriac tells us that he prefers to write on those who are ‘evil’ and unconventional instead of those who are good and virtuous.

I can totally understand why. (And I totally understand Mauriac thus that’s why I’m in love with his book, Thérèse Desqueyroux).

My 21 Favourite Movies (in particular themes)

For all movies that I will mention, go to imb.com for more info on any films.

I just watched The Rite yesterday night at home and it was… awesome! 🙂 I’ve missed movies like that since I last saw The Season of a Witch with Nicholas Cage! I might be a girl but that’s one of my type of movies – war, history, myth, medieval times, magic, but not necessarily horror and especially whatever movies with priets and demons in it! ^^ though I’ve never been on the priests’ sides… 😉 except when they’re as handsome as Nicholas Cage!

By the way the list is not in a particular order. It depends purely on my sole memory. 😛
