ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT!

This is it. We are really doing this. In one week, on the 1st February 2016, we will be launching our artistic project, ‘The Mad Artist’!

For those of you who don’t know what this is all about, please read this brief statement explaining all of it HERE, and if you are more curious about my thought processes about it, click HERE.

But it’s basically a project that will help undervalued artists to showcase their beautiful artworks all on a growing Facebook page – a social media platform for creative minds! I pitched the idea onto this blog first, then to my friends and so far, I was encouraged, so here we are!

Hehe, this is actually the profile picture of ‘The Mad Artist’ Deviantart group, which I created and used to invite artists all over the world to participate in the project. Here’s the group name: TMA-NewTalents, in case any one of you would like to check out the various submitted artworks there. The response was great and positive 🙂

To those of you who have considered joining the project too, this is a reminder for you to submit your art now! Well, actually you can submit at any time, even after the launching date, because we’ll always need your art to showcase to a fresh audience that there are rare talents out there!

If you want to submit:

(i) Either through the Deviantart group that I linked above,

(ii) Or by sending me an email at daphyin.art@gmail.com

Do watermark your work and link me your Facebook page preferably (if you don’t have one then the link of your blog or any other platform you use), as all credits go to the artist!

You can also write a custom caption, to be sent along with the art.

So what are you waiting for? Join ‘The Mad Artist’ project!

Anyway.

I’m just so excited.

Will update you guys about the project in a week.

Until then,

An Evil Nymph.

The Mad Artist

‘The Mad Artist’ is a project that aims to solve a common inconvenience in the career of an independent artist, a.k.a. the second half of the creative job: publicizing one’s talents and being up-to-date with other artists.

We aim to offer a platform, free of charge, where all arts (both traditional and digital visual arts, crafts, music, photography, writing…) can be showcased to a worldwide audience, with the artist’s name and page/website clearly featured.

Our mission is to minimize the global underestimation of art and showcase how art does contribute to the beauty of the world, of one’s life. In simpler words: art is worth it. In addition, it is always a pleasure to fill someone’s social media feed with beautiful and meaningful things.

Being a start-up project, we will be starting with a Facebook page, and this is because Facebook is conveniently multi-media-friendly in terms of posting, while having one of the biggest active audience in the internet world. As some people say, ‘everyone has Facebook’ now. We might eventually expand to a website and other social networks in the future, depending on the response rate.

If you want to contribute your art to the project, simply send us your best work of art, with or without a caption of your preference, unless your art is writing itself, by email for evaluation and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If your art is accepted, then just sit back and relax, and we will do our best to put your work out there for everyone to see.

Email: daphyin.art@gmail.com

Tentative Launch Date: 1st February 2016 (?)

Partner in art: Dwij Rogbeer

I NEED YOUR OPINION: ‘The Mad Artist’ Project

I hate myself for saying this, but when I feel like chilling in the morning, doing nothing, I open my Facebook and scroll down my news feed. The nice thing about my news feed is that, since a news feed depends on the previous posts you liked and such, I keep seeing either inspiring/writing quotes or beautiful artworks. I’m especially a fan of Word Porn and berlin-artparasites.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, despite my recent irregularity, you know that I’m also as much of a writer as a reader, and also that I’m as much of a visual artist (especially seen on my instagram) as a viewer and appreciator of art.

So, I was doing my usual online routine when an idea occurred to me. And ‘The Mad Artist’ Project was born.

What is that ‘crazy’ project?

Nothing has been done yet, because I would like some opinions from a little of everywhere before I do begin it; but in theory, ‘The Mad Artist’ is going to be a start-up Facebook platform for starting or established artists (digital, traditional, photographers, you name it) to get to promote their best art on a weekly/monthly basis. If I do get to go along with the project, I will start it as a Facebook page first, then expand to a website and Instagram and more maybe.

Why this project?

You see, I am sometimes an artist too, but often, my student life gets in the way and I just stop. Moreover, every time I feel like making my brand, I tend to falter and shift to another style, thus I’m way too inconsistent in art to have a signature style and build my own ’empire’. However, I’m consistently looking out for artsy things, especially during my Facebook time, since I do have creative friends and I do like a lot of such pages, and I really appreciate art, and sometimes I just wish I could help those consistent and dedicated artists in a way.

Besides, I think that being an independent artist (my targeted audience for the project for the time being) requires not only to make art but also to promote it… and the project is going to take care of that second job, at least, I hope it’s going to give more exposure and encourage mingles among the different artists I know.

It will basically be a platform for uniting my favourite arts and at the same time for more exposure for busy creative artists.

If you are confused, here’s a prototype of how a post on the page would look like: a photo/the art and a caption by me (because I do love to write and I did enjoy doing the Picture it & Write challenges long before on this blog, which has the same concept):

“”She might as well have been a porcelain doll. She was played with, but she could not play with.”

My Model Photography Project!

I apologize for this Friday’s missing Psychology post, but I’ve been busy carrying out one of my last modelling photoshoots (it was supposed to have been my last but in the end my friends and I concluded that we had to do more, and moreover I still have about a month and a half before going to university) and I’ve finally published the photos online! I mean, I did an album on Facebook, haha, like a kind of conclusion of the project, although it might not be the end yet 😉

cover

(here’s an overall appeal of what the project was all about, and also my facebook cover hehe)

We actually did five themes for the project:

1. Nature

2. James Bond in Vacation (yeah I know lol xD)

3. Urban

4. Vintage

5. Seashore (it was supposed to be Beach but some weather and sickness problems arose so… :P)

And it was so FUN!!! 🙂 An amazing experience.

If you want to see the album and thus all the themes & photos… CLICK HERE!!!

Enjoy 😉

I’ll catch up on my Psychology series soon 😛

Oh and if you want me to give you some of my tips on model photography or anything related, just let me know 🙂

Stay tuned!

From Script To Novel Writing…

I absolutely have to update you about my writing life!!! Yes at last!

While I was busy with exams and catching up with vlogging and blogging, especially the Weekly Photo Challenge, afterwards, I also had a lot going on with my pen and paper… well, mainly with my MS Word. And it’s only now that I finally pushed away my laziness to sit down and write a post about some serious business of mine: writing.

From the title of this post, you might have an idea of my writing projects. In fact, before my exams started I spent 2-3 consecutive days at writing a whole short film script. Like, non-stop. Except for sleep.

By the way some of you who liked my facebook page (An Evil Nymph) did see a status I posted at that time telling you about that little project. So, for you it’s not the big news yet 😉
