How I Make Full Use of My Wardrobe to Save Money on Clothes

When I was young, I didn’t think about it. Some days were shopping days with mom and I could buy one or two pieces of clothing here and there. If I went out once a week, it could easily amount to 4-8 clothes a month! But, as children, you don’t really think about it. All clothes were mostly discounted or were considered the best deals we could get, and we often went to thrift stores.

Nevertheless, when I became a university student and had to live on my own with a very limited budget, I realised that buying things other than food and other essentials were life-and-death situations. And since spending time out with my friend were more valuable to me, shopping for clothes became a luxury, an occasional wimp, an accessory to kill boredom.

After almost 3 years, I finally have a bit more freedom on my spending, since I’ve been saving up, but habits die hard; so here are 3 things I did to make full use of what I had in my closet, so that I didn’t feel the urge to buy more clothes:

Bookshopping In Singapore!!!

Yes you read the title right! I recently went to Singapore  with my friend Sandra… for 8 consecutive days!

And there is only one word to describe our trip:

A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

Anyway, this time, I tried something new in terms of travelling activities and as you’ve obviously guessed from the title, one day we decided to go bookshopping! I don’t know if there is a specific legit word for it, but basically we googled about bookstores in Singapore and spent a whole day visiting them and buying books! And to our convenience, most of the interesting ones were found to be based in a single particular area: Tiong Bahru.

Sincerely, this place is definitely meant for book lovers and artists! It’s a small quiet area, so cosy!

Proof: we went there twice. Well that was because I became crazy…

Anyway, here’s the whole story… of our bookshopping adventure!!!

The first bookshop we went to was Books Actually, one of the most famous and beloved stores in Singapore.

The artwork of the store is just so beautiful! Bookworms be prepared to drool!

Christmas Presents In Advance | Edition 2013

I remembered I made a similar post back in 2011 when I received my first and only Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy SII, in addition to a wonderful book of course.

Well this year, I also decided to get myself something tech-y as well as books and since I got my gifts way before Christmas (i.e. for more than a week)… today’s post is born!

But first, for the sake of the Christmas and holiday spirit, I’d like to share with you an event a group of YouTubers, including me, are doing to help other YouTubers, as during the holiday season we want to Do Good 🙂

Here it is:

Hope you have some spare time to watch it! If not, without further ado, here are my 2013 Christmas presents!

Weekly Photo Challenge is Back! | Unexpected

unexpected weather

Yeah I’m getting back to the dailypost’s weekly photo challenge! And this week’s theme is ‘unexpected‘.

What I found unexpected lately was that instead of the sunny shiny weather we should have in summer, we are being drained in rain almost everyday since the holidays began. Though, let’s be frank, I like that rainy weather and that’s mainly because it’s not intolerably hot then. So I’m not suffocating in an overheated air!

The photo I chose for the challenge was one taken by my sister when we were at the hotel during the weekend and it kind of rained a lot the last day of our stay.

So no, don’t worry there’s no flood around my area, this is just a pool! A swimming pool.

Anyway, please feel free to leave your interpretation of ‘unexpected’ below!

If you want to watch the latest vlog I filmed (I did it at the hotel itself! Great way to start the holidays, right?) just go to the ‘Vlogging Channel’ tab at the top of this blog or just click HERE! By the way, I edit the ‘Vlogging Channel’ tab every time I upload a new video, thus showing you my latest vlog 🙂

Have a great day!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

colourful iPod nano back cover

I want to start over. I want to start fresh.

I want to push aside the past and write my own future. Take my own decisions.

And I began by painting the back cover of my iPod nano (I had it since 2008!) so that my musical box would start fresh again as well. A new background. A new cover. New colours and a tree to show the way up. Growing up means to go forward.

Peace and love, guys. 🙂

What is your interpretation of fresh? Feel free to share your thoughts below!

The Golden Hour + My Holiday Plans!

I’m officially getting back to the Weekly Photo Challenge! And this week’s theme is The Golden Hour

the golden hour sunrise

I took this photo from my room and it’s sunrise on a Saturday morning when I usually do my weekly morning jogging. It’s not a much recent photo but I think I never shared it with you right? Although I did on instagram.

The ‘I’M GUILTY’ Episode!

One more week and my exams will finally be over. ONE WEEK! Well, they end on Thursday. Anyway, I wasn’t supposed to do anything like blogging or YouTubing… but I couldn’t help it. I was much active on Twitter especially.

And I bought art stuff!

Yes, I’m definitely guilty!

Then, yesterday I did the thing that a student in exams period should put last in their to-do list and that is… I did a video. Well I filmed one with the help of my little sister, and now it’s up on YouTube!

I guess it would be inhuman to be able to remain buried in school books 24/24.

So here’s the video:
