A Bunny Rant About Google+ & YouTube “Just Married”

*I was thinking about vlogging about this because it is mainly on the changes YouTube has been undergoing lately, but I’m still in exams and blogging about it is much easier and less time consuming. With that said…*

bunny-(8)When I first integrated myself in the YouTube community it was for the sole purpose of watching piano tutorials and covers of my favourite songs because at that time I was self-teaching myself how to play the piano. It was in 2009. I was only 13-14 years old then. Afterwards, after one year, I started making video montages with my favourite TV series at that time: Merlin, and as most of you know my vidding channel was born.

I remember how at that time my YouTube channel was so customizable with the transparency option especially, with which I could thankfully put up a favourite wallpaper of mine to serve as my channel’s background image. I remember how a YouTube channel back then was like a… profile page, with friends as well as subscribers and channel groups and more.

But YouTube’s format gradually changed as the years passed… until we came to the current channel format: less customizable, more professional, which led to a kind of a division between the content creators and the viewers… when in truth we are all equal, and creators are viewers as well as vice versa.

Nude Art Is Beautiful

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS MATURE CONTENT.

I’ve grown a certain addiction to nude art since I finished my portfolio during the week, and nude art being one of the sections I had to put in and a chapter we studied in our art course.

Nude art is not vulgar or offensive or downgrading. It’s art. So it’s beautiful 🙂

And thus here’s my nude art collection:

1. The Muscular Man

It’s the very first that we drew in class itself with basic graphite pencils.

The ‘I’M GUILTY’ Episode!

One more week and my exams will finally be over. ONE WEEK! Well, they end on Thursday. Anyway, I wasn’t supposed to do anything like blogging or YouTubing… but I couldn’t help it. I was much active on Twitter especially.

And I bought art stuff!

Yes, I’m definitely guilty!

Then, yesterday I did the thing that a student in exams period should put last in their to-do list and that is… I did a video. Well I filmed one with the help of my little sister, and now it’s up on YouTube!

I guess it would be inhuman to be able to remain buried in school books 24/24.

So here’s the video:

An Evil Nymph Needs A Break…

Hi everyone!

This is to inform you that I… well, I… (it’s so hard to say it but) I need a break from the blogging world.

Yes, that’s why I skipped this week’s Picture it & Write, I’m sorry for that.

It won’t take long, I hope, but for the time being I’m backing away from my blog. I’m just having a hard time in real life for the moment; I’m going through a lot lately. Thus I decided to trim my hobbies/activities temporarily.

So that I can find myself again.

This is my latest photo by the way 🙂

There are still some guest posts that I need to publish that I’ve already approved and scheduled in the past, which you will be able to read and respond to while I’m taking my break.

And I’m still going to tweet, so for those who are interested, here’s my Twitter: @DaphYin.

And well…

I’m really really sorry.

But I need to do this.

I don’t know when I’ll come back, but be reassured that I will. Hopefully I might still post some photos from time to time.

Again I’m sorry.

Till we meet again,

An Evil Nymph.

The Art Of Planning A Blog

Let me tell you that I have a blogging schedule, but that I don’t have one. Yes, I love paradoxes lately.

blogging artWhat I mean is that when I first started this blog, I had absolutely no clue where I was going with it. I posted at random, writing without being specialised in any niche, many posts a day or how often I wanted to publish something in the blogosphere during the week.

Then I started to have an audience. A small one at first of course, but for me, one faithful reader was enough for me to become a little more organised on my blog, since I’d despise myself for confusing or overwhelming any followers of mine.

Advice on Guest Posting

If you have been following me for a while you should have noticed that guest posts are becoming more and more regular in my blogging schedule.

What is guest posting?

You know, those posts which aren’t written by me, but by someone else – and at the end of the post I place a short bio to credit them? This is a guest post.

You own a blog, and you write most of the articles, then one day, a mail comes in telling you that she/he wants to write for you. Well that’s fine. Less work for me and more exposure for the person, which is then called a guest poster. (I guess)

Okay fine, it’s called a guest blogger.

Sites of the Month: March 2012

This month has been very heavy… well it’s only the beginning of my journey to my A-levels. :S

Sometimes I just feel like I’m out of control – just when I’m starting to get organised! – and I just want to give it all up. But when you have awesome friends that can make you laugh for a whole day, you’ll just have to remember these short moments and your smile will last longer than you think despite everything else 🙂

Guest Post: How To Be A Safe and Smart Social Networker

How To Be A Safe and Smart Social Networker

How cool is it that we can at a click of a mouse or the press of a “send” key be in touch with people thousands of miles away from us, in different time zones or communicate with our best friends and families in an instant? Well, you might argue it isn’t THAT cool in relation to your family, but whatever…we can!

mouse of a computer

Things like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Skype and MSN/Yahoo Messenger provide us with a quick way of getting information out there, of talking to and interacting with people we know and for that matter people we don’t know too. All this is incredibly awesome, but not without its drawbacks. Here is a savvy guide to being a safe, smart social networker that lets you be able to have fun, but make sure you’re protected.

This Year is a Pool of Awards…

Since the beginning of the year my bookmarks bar on Google Chrome was filled with posts which nominated me for blog awards. That;s why I usually share/pass on the love of multiple awards to other bloggers. And it’s not over yet.

I firstly thank The Narcissist’s Blog for the Versatile Blogger award and the Kreativ Blogger award 🙂

Except from the rules of thanking the person who gave these to you and listing 10 bloggers to pass on those goodies (which we’ll come to soon don’t worry), there’s the fun part, which is to list…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Self-Portrait

This is me and my Sony camera in front of our Christmas tree 🙂

self-portrait within a christmas ball

Alright I know that you can’t clearly see me through the red ball… but well I like the effect. I wanted my face to be clearer in the ball but there wasn’t better than that.

Anyway I’m busy with the end of year season and having fun nevertheless and I hope that you do too!

I know,  I know, I’m late! It’s already December! I wanted to write this post in the beginning of this week but because of my weekend vacation – I had so much to share with you 😀 – I couldn’t.

Anyway I’m starting to have lots of ideas – good or bad – for posts for both of my blogs and I’m also still moving on with my NaNo novel… + Youtube just made me confused with his new design and I had to adjust my channel to fit it etc… + Christmas is approaching… well just that I’m a bit overwhelmed LOL!
